Vikrant Massey’s movie ’12th Fail,’ based on IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma’s life, will be released in over 20,000 theatres in China. Massey will also be going to China to promote the film.
Massey expressed his excitement about the release, saying, “It’s been a while since something like this happened. I’m thrilled that ’12th Fail’ will be shown on over 20,000 screens in China. I’ll be going to China to promote it. The filmmakers have been working hard to make this happen.”
He also mentioned the demand for Indian movies in China, saying, “There’s a big interest in Indian cinema in China. They’ve given us over 20,000 screens for ’12th Fail.’ China is a big market for entertainment.”
Aamir Khan, a Bollywood actor, had also gone to China to promote his movies ‘Dangal’ in 2016 and ‘3 Idiots’ in 2009, both of which did well in China.
Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, ’12th Fail’ is inspired by true stories and focuses on UPSC aspirants. It shows the challenges many students who dream of passing the UPSC entrance exam face. The movie tells the story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who became an IPS officer despite coming from a poor background.
Vikrant Massey plays the role of a young Manoj from Chambal who dreams of becoming a police officer, while Medha Shankar plays the role of his wife, Shraddha Joshi, an IRS officer.
In March, IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma was promoted to Inspector General (IG) in the Maharashtra Police from Deputy Inspector General (DIG). He expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported him throughout his journey.
